My data sheet (of a photocoupler or optical MOSFET) shows the AC isolation voltage, but can you describe the DC isolation voltage?
The isolation voltage in photocouplers and optical MOSFETs is generally the maximum AC voltage that can be applied between the input and output pins, and is expressed in terms of the root mean square (r.m.s.). This is the value at which the isolation voltage can be guaranteed. The DC isolation voltage is not prescribed, but it is possible to assign a reference on an individual product basis.
