Is there a way to erase data flash memory before downloading programs?

* Select [Yes] for [Erase flash ROM before download] in the Property panel's [Download File Settings] tab of E1 or E20.

Answer:

In the CubeSuite+, there is no method to erase the data flash area before downloading programs.

After programs have been downloaded, memory areas including the data flash area can be initialized collectively using the following procedure.

  1. After downloading programs, right-click in the Memory panel.
  2. Select [Fill...] from the context menu to display the Memory Initialize dialog box.
  3. Specify an address range of memory whose values need to be initialized in [Start address/symbol] and [End address/symbol], specify the initialization data to be written into memory in [Initialize data], and click the [OK] button.

Note that the RFP (Renesas Flash Programmer) can be used to erase all flash memory areas including the data flash area before downloading programs.

For details, refer to the Renesas Flash Programmer User's Manual.
