Can you elaborate more about the setting procedure of interrupts?

Latest Updated:12/07/2004

Question:

(Interrupts)   The setting procedure for "when not requiring for the interrupt occurrence synchronized with these setting" when selecting an active edge selection of the external interrupt or an interrupt source of an interrupt vector which is shared by several interrupt factors:

(1) What does "when not requiring for the interrupt occurrence synchronized with these setting" mean?
(2) When using a timer in modes which do not require setting the active edge of the external interrupt, is the above procedure necessary?
(3) Is the above procedure necessary even when writing the same value to timer mode and interrupt edge select regsiters (for example, writing "0" when the edge select register = 0)?

Answer:

( 1 ) When selecting an active edge selection of the external interrupt or an interrupt factor of an interrupt vector shared by several interrupt factors, the interrupt request bit may be set to "1". The phrase refers to avoiding interrupt generation in this situation. If interrupt generation in this situation will not cause any problems, the above procedure is not necessary.

( 2 ) No, it is not necessary.

( 3 ) No, it is not necessary.
